A little help?

Hi everyone. My mom is frustrated right now. She has been an avid scrapbooker for years now and has put together numerous books for each child. She has a million more pictures that she wants to use, but is starting to wonder if she should move to digital scrapbooking. Do any of you do your scrapbooking this way? She needs some insight!

I am struggling with the same dilema. Why I want to keep doing traditional scrapping: to use up the supplies I have, I get to go to Utah every 6 months with my friends to scrap, and I like to slip report cards and papers into the sheet protectors.
I want to try digital because it would save a lot of time but haven't ventured into it yet.

Digital scrapbooking is great! I started doing it about 7 months ago and it has been very worth it. I have a hard time sitting down with all the kids to scrapbook, but doing it on my laptop is easy. I can just work on it for a few minutes several times throughout the day. There are tons of sites that you can get free stuff from while you are learning how to make papers and elements so it ends up being cheaper which is nice. If I were you, I would buy photoshop elements and find a community class to teach you how to start. It really is easy. You can print the pages one by one at Costco or you can wait until you have a full books worth and they will make a book for you. It is really cool.

So when you do the digital scrapbooking do you think it takes away from the dimension of having everything layered?

Maybe I'm a little late here - but I have started doing a little digital scrapbooking as well. For my new digital pictures, I love it! I still haven't put all my old photos in books yet, but, my plan is to just put those in a nice sleeved page, and be done with it. If I scanned all the old pictures in now, I'd have to pay for the pictures twice, when I printed the pages. So, I gues my 2 cents is, start digital from here, just do it simple with the old stuff(In good quality sleeves). I don't think digital takes away too much from the fun of layering. The ease of it all, more than makes up for anything you would miss.
